US 15/PA 581 Improvement Project - Tentative Schedule

 

Please note that this an anticipated schedule of construction activities and that this schedule may be modified as construction progresses.

 

2010 Construction

 

US 15 – From Lower Allen Drive Interchange to Camp Hill Mall (Harvard Ave.)

  • Reconstruct permanent US 15 Southbound lanes and median from Lower Allen Drive interchange through the area of the Camp Hill Mall.

  • Finish construction of the center portion of US 15 bridge over PA 581 (Bridge 1).

  • Reconstruct/widen the Northbound lanes of US 15 bridge over PA 581 (Bridge 1).

  • Reconstruct/widen the Southbound lanes of US 15 bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad (Bridge 2).

  • Begin to reconstruct/widen the Northbound lanes of US 15 bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad (Bridge 2).

  • Reconstruct/widen the Southbound lanes of US 15 over Gettysburg Road (Bridge 3).

  • Begin to reconstruct/widen the Northbound lanes at US 15 over Gettysburg Road (Bridge 3).

  • Permanently remove existing ramp access to/from US 15 to/from Gettysburg Road.

  • Begin to reconstruct/widen US 15 Northbound lanes from Lower Allen Drive through the area of the Camp Hill Mall.

 

PA 581 – West of SR 15/581 Intersection to Viaduct Bridge over Hummel Avenue

  • Construct Ground Mounted Sound Barrier Wall NSA6 along Ramp A and PA 581 Westbound.

  • Construct Ground Mounted Sound Barrier Wall NSA4 along Ramp H and PA 581 Westbound.

  • Construct collector/distributer road for PA 581 Westbound and Eastbound in the area of US 15/PA581 interchange.

 

Ramps

  • US 15/PA 581 Interchange - construct temporary Ramp A.

  • US 15/PA 581 Interchange - construct permanent Ramps A, C, G, H,& F.

  • Install a permanent traffic signal at Ramp H spur and SR 11/15.

  • Complete PA 581 Eastbound acceleration lane from Ramp F.

  • Construct PA 581 Westbound deceleration lane Ramp A.

 

Gettysburg Road (SR 2014)

  • Construct Gettysburg Road Box Culvert extension for Cedar Run Tributary.

  • Install drainage.

  • Overlay Gettysburg Road/Hummel Ave.

  • Install permanent traffic signal at Gettysburg Road and Linda Lane.

 

2011 Construction

 

US 15 – From Lower Allen Drive Interchange to Camp Hill Mall (Harvard Ave.)

  • Complete the reconstruction/widening of the Northbound lanes of US 15 bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad (Bridge 2).

  • Complete the reconstruction/widening of the Northbound lanes of US 15 over Gettysburg Road (Bridge 3).

  • Complete US 15 Northbound reconstruction with final wearing surface.

  • Install guiderail, signing, lighting. Install permanent median barrier.

  • Install permanent pavement markings for US 15 and PA 581.

 

Gettysburg Road (SR 2014)

  • Reconstruct Simpson Ferry Road under US 15
